In your browser

Paste text into Text to Speech, choose a voice, speed and pitch, and click Read aloud. It uses the voices built into your device, so nothing is sent anywhere.

Built into your devices

Windows: Narrator (Win+Ctrl+Enter) or Edge's Read aloud. Mac: Edit > Speech > Start Speaking. iPhone: Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content > Speak Screen (swipe down with two fingers). Android: Select to Speak.

Proofread by ear

Listening catches missing words, repeated words and awkward sentences your eyes skip. Try it on important emails and proposals before sending.

Better voices

Newer devices include natural-sounding voices – download extra voices in your system's speech or accessibility settings.
