How to Make a QR Code with Your Logo That Still Scans

A branded QR code gets more scans than a plain one – but a logo in the wrong place or colours with poor contrast can make it unreadable.

Why a logo doesn't break it

QR codes include error correction. At level H, up to about 30% of the code can be damaged and still read, so a centred logo covering a modest area works.

Make it

Open QR Code with Logo, enter your link, pick a dark code colour on a light background, upload a square PNG logo and choose small or medium size. The code uses level H error correction automatically.

Rules that keep it scannable

Keep strong contrast (dark on light, never light on dark), don't cover the three corner squares, keep the logo under about a quarter of the width, and leave a quiet white margin around the code.

Test before printing

Scan it with an iPhone and an Android phone, from screen and from a printed test page, at the real size it will be used.

Frequently asked questions

Does a logo QR code expire?

No – it's a static code with your link inside.

What logo format works best?

A square PNG with a transparent background.

Can I use any colour?

Yes, as long as the code stays much darker than the background.
